The OSU Office of Research is sponsoring the annual Celebration of Research this month, with several events and workshops geared to OSU researchers, research staff, and research administrators.
On Tuesday, November 8th, two events of note will be held at the Ohio Union:
State of Research Address by Vice President for Research Caroline Whitacre
Caroline Whitacre, vice president for research at The Ohio State University, will deliver her annual “State of Research” address on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in the Ohio Union to university leadership, academic leaders, faculty researchers, industry partners, community leaders, and other invited guests. At the conclusion of this address, Dr. Whitacre will announce the recipient of the 2011 Innovator of the Year Award. This new award, bestowed by the Office of Research, will recognize outstanding accomplishment in promoting commercialization of university intellectual property and stimulating economic development in the state, region, and nation. A reception will immediately follow the announcement at the Research Expo.
Research Expo
The Research Expo is the marquee event of Ohio State’s annual Celebration of Research and is designed to highlight the centers/institutes, core labs/shared resources, research support services, and vendors available to the Ohio State research community. The Expo begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Performance Hall of the Ohio Union immediately after the State of Research Address and ends at 1:00 p.m.
