Open house for 2020 OSU Materials Research Seed Grant Program to be held Nov. 20

Next week, the Institute for Materials Research (IMR) and the Center for Exploration of Novel Complex Materials (ENCOMM) will host an open house for the OSU Materials Research Seed Grant Program (MRSGP) to offer researchers a breakdown of the program and more information about available proposal offerings.

The open house at the IMR Innovation Lab (Room 218) at Nanotech West Laboratory (1381 Kinnear Road) on Wednesday, Nov. 20 is a chance to shape teams and strengthen the proposals of researchers from The Ohio State University.

This open house is a new event to the 2020 program, replacing last year’s panel discussion. The purpose of this open house will (1) Present key elements and changes to the RFP; (2) Explain MRSGP mission and opportunity to leverage into block grants; (3) Past MRSGP Awardee Q&A Panel; (4) Introduce IMR Proposal Development offerings.

The multiple funding tiers of the MRSGP are designed to achieve the greatest impact for seeding excellence in materials research of varying scopes, and with the goal of generating new directions that extend beyond the boundaries of existing research programs.

Two funding tiers are offered this year: the Multidisciplinary Team Building Grants and the Exploratory Materials Research Grants. Please visit the IMR website for details.

This program leverages resources and best practices of the Center for Emergent Materials (CEM), ENCOMM, and IMR.

Whether you are a new proposer or past awardee, this event is for you. No RSVP needed.
