mhuson General, IMR Staff

The Institute for Materials Research (IMR) welcomes Greg Godic as its new business operations manager. In the position, he will act as the IMR business and chief financial officer interfacing with university Offices, Colleges, and Departments.

Greg brings to the institute more than a decade of professional experience working in financial positions in higher education. Prior to joining IMR, he worked as a budget analyst in the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Greg previously held two positions at The Ohio State University: a department manager in the College of Engineering and, before that, a financial and grant manager in the School of Biomedical Sciences.

At IMR, Greg will oversee and manage all fiscal functions of the institute and assist with multiple operational and human resources activities. Additionally, he will work with IMR operations and laboratory staff to establish fiscal and operational procedures, including developing efficient system workflows that enhance operations.

Greg earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance Designation and bachelor’s Finance and Transportation and Logistics from Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business.

He is a long-time animal lover who can be found roaming around the Columbus area with his two dogs.  And, for any daring athletes in the IMR community, Godic is welcoming challengers on the squash court.
