CCBD Open House

Thursday, May 5, 2011

2:00 – 4:00 PM

Rooms 0118 and 140 Newman-Wolfrom Lab, 100 West 18th Avenue

The Center for Chemical and Biophysical Dynamics (CCBD) Laboratory is an IMR-supported research facility within OSU’s Chemistry department, with Professor Terry Gustafson serving as the Lab Director and IMR Member of Technical Staff Dr. Evgeny Danilov as CCBD’s Lab Manager.

All materials-allied researchers are invited to join us for a CCBD Lab open house event on Thursday, May 5 from 2-4PM.

The CCBD is a laser facility that provides the ability to measure transient UV/Vis, fluorescence, infrared, and stimulated Raman spectra on femtosecond time scale.  The CCBD facilities may be of interest to researchers working in the areas of semiconductors, organic polymers, photochemistry, dye-sensitized solar cells, and carbon nanotubes.

While this laser facility has been on campus for some time, it recently became an open user facility and is now available to OSU and external research groups.  We hope you will join us at this open house to see the available instrumentation, talk with the lab director and manager about the lab’s capabilities, see posters of recent work done in CCBD by OSU students, and learn more about this exciting addition to OSU’s materials facilities.
