The IIT Bombay-Ohio State Frontier Science and Engineering Research Center, the government of Maharashtra and Ernst & Young have launched an energy technology initiative to drive innovation and foster a greener future. The partnership, formalized through the signing of an international agreement in June, will bring researchers together to address how energy technology can be applied to specific challenges, find innovative and applicable solutions and enhance sustainability in Maharashtra.

The India Gateway coordinated the signing ceremony as well as an energy-themed workshop to kick off the partnership. Steve Ringel, executive director of the Frontier Center, led the workshop discussion that focused on energy storage, green hydrogen, and photovoltaic technologies, as well as smart grid and power electronics innovations.
