2023 Ohio State Materials & Manufacturing Conference – Call for Posters
Graduate Students at The Ohio State University (and outside of OSU with advisor support) are invited to contribute posters to the 2023 Ohio State Materials & Manufacturing Conference Student Poster Sessions.
Posters can relate to research conducted in any topic relevant to materials and manufacturing-allied research. Poster sessions will be held on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in The Fawcett Center Ballroom, and students will be assigned to present at one of these two sessions.
Awards will be given to the top posters!
Poster Submission Instructions
Online registration is open and poster registration will end on April 23, 2023.
Poster information must be submitted using the 2023 Ohio State Materials & Manufacturing Conference online registration process, and will require the following information:
- Poster title
- Authors’ names
- Presenter’s name and department
- Advisors’ names
- A brief (200 word maximum) description of the research conducted
The information submitted will be used in the published poster session guides distributed to judges and all guests at the event.
Poster Topics
Each poster should be aligned with one or more of the following six signature areas of research:
- Electronic and photonic materials & devices
- Emergent materials
- Magnetic materials and phenomena
- Manufacturing and processing
- Materials characterization
- Materials for energy & sustainability
At least one week before the event, you will be contacted with your assigned poster session date.
Poster Guidelines
Posters should be:
- Brief and clearly organized
- Simple, with an obvious theme
- Easy to read from 4 to 6 feet away
Poster Dimensions
- Maximum poster size is 36″ x 48″
- Landscape (horizontal) orientation
- Unmounted (no foam core)
- T-pins will be provided to hang your poster
Poster Set Up & Removal
- Set up is between 1:00pm and 4:00 pm on your assigned date. Bring your poster to the registration desk at that time, check in with registration staff and hang your poster in the assigned location.
- You must be present at your assigned Poster Session from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to discuss your research.
- Posters must be removed immediately after the poster session at 7:00 p.m.
